As part of the Egypt Urban Campaign, UHPH-MENA collaborated with local organizations to work with residents of the Asmarat public housing neighbourhood to upgrading a selected public passageway.

Improving Resilience to Extreme Heat Vulnerabilities in Cairo
This study is a collaboration between Cardiff University, Cairo University, UDF, and UHPH-MENA. It will examine urban heat exposure in Cairo through satellite remote-sensing data and by delving into specific urban case-studies. Additionally, it will collect data on local heat-perceptions and socio-cultural practices related to living with heat.

In September 2025, UHPH-MENA collaborated with local and international partners to co-implement a participatory public space intervention in Khayyala, a public social housing neighbourhood in Cairo, Egypt.
