Dr. Ibrahim El-Kerdany previously worked in the United Nations system for 24 years, including 16 years as Head of Health and Nutrition at UNICEF in Egypt. He then worked for a year as a consultant for the AIDS control program in the Gulf region, based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is funded by the United Nations Development Program, the United Nations Population Fund and the United Nations Program To combat AIDS and UNICEF office in Saudi Arabia. Dr. El-Kerdany joined the World Health Organization as a regional media advisor and official spokesperson for the organization for more than 7 years. He also worked with Rotary International in Evanston, Illinois, as a regional consultant for the Polio Control Program for the Africa and Middle East region. Dr. El-Kerdany is a well-known journalist in Egypt and has worked for 16 years in radio and television, presenting news bulletins and youth programs related to health and behavior, as well as the famous “Good Morning Egypt” program and English language education programs.
